Renaissance Corset This shape has a straight, flat front to push the bust up and in and mold the torso into a conical shape. Lacing is usually back, although it can be found in the front as well. Boning is usually butted up against other boning, making a very heavily boned construction. Common bones from period were walebone, reeds, or cords. Straps are common, and usually pushed out to the shoulder points. Corset stops at the natural waist in the back with a natural waist or short basque in the front. |
