Baroque Corset Has a flat front to push the bust in and down and push the torso into a flat cone. The front bust area is wide with a narrow back. Boning is usually butted up against other boning, making a very heavily boned construction. Common bones from period were walebone, reeds, or cords. Lacing is back or front. Corset has straps horizontal across the upper arms and a low waist with a deep basque. |
